MIND YOUR CHARACTER – SUNDAY SPECIAL!!!
YOUNG PEOPLE, BIG BURDENS,CHILDREN’S CHURCH!
They have more to grapple with than we may ever imagine.
It’s kinda complex!
They bleed in wait for active, selfless partnership so as to sail the waters without drowning.
Today, I make a case for the young people.
They live in a world where Pry 1 pupils (of the opposite sexes) are caught necking, kissing and in deep romance by the path to the school’s toilet!
In a world where taking one’s own life has become :what big boys do’!
Where there is so much fine intelligence, yet so much unsavory character.
Yes, I agree that parents should be the principal influencers of their children, but access to information is now so unfettered!
Who then will help children whose parents don’t even get the current drift, say less of serving as their anchors?
Or what when the parents are the actual negative influences?
Do we all have a future without our future (the children)?
What interventions can the churches offer at this critical moments?
Children’s Church! Yes, I recall it used to mean so much!
What has it become or what has become of it?
In the words of Pa Moses Iloh at NCPS 2015, ‘The parents have neglected the children to keep busy, the government has neglected the children and so has the church!”
Is your church guilty?
Tell me here, what’s the children’s church like now … In your local assembly?
Are the managers in touch with reality? Are their approaches relevant? Can it attract and retain attention? Can they plant a seed that’s incorruptible? Can we fill the void that parents created? Would we watch more die?
I’m predominantly a product of progressive church impact from one age group to another!
